As the 2026 Utah Valley Parade of Homes (@UVParade As the 2026 Utah Valley Parade of Homes (@UVParade) gets underway, we’re reflecting on Auberge de la Famille and the design approach that shaped the project.

Rather than pursuing a contemporary mountain house aesthetic, the home draws inspiration from traditional European farmhouses through the use of simple forms, natural materials, and timeless architectural detailing. The 10,000 sq. ft. residence was designed to feel both expansive and deeply welcoming, balancing large gathering spaces with a sense of warmth and intimacy throughout.

We’re honored to continue seeing the project featured in this year’s Parade advertising and look forward to following along with this year’s tour.

Hard to believe a year has passed since the 2025 U Hard to believe a year has passed since the 2025 Utah Valley Parade of Homes (@UVParade), where Auberge de la Famille was honored with the People’s Choice Award.

Nestled into the foothills of Traverse Mountain in Lehi, Utah, the residence was designed as a secluded retreat elevated above the surrounding landscape. Large expanses of glass frame distant views of Utah Lake and the Wasatch Range, creating a constant connection between the interior spaces and the dramatic natural setting beyond.

As this year’s Parade begins, we’re excited to see the homes and teams featured throughout the 2026 tour. Best of luck to all participating.

Few traditions capture the spirit of the Main Line Few traditions capture the spirit of the Main Line quite like the Devon Horse Show (@Devon1896).

Archer & Buchanan was honored to contribute to the showgrounds through the design of the Devon Horse Show Pavilion, a multi-functional building created to support the evolving needs of this historic venue while respecting its longstanding architectural character.

Designed to serve administrative, hospitality, and emergency services functions, the pavilion was envisioned as a seamless addition to the grounds, balancing tradition with functionality for generations of riders, spectators, and guests to come.

As this year’s show continues through May 31, we’re grateful to have played a small role in a Main Line institution that has brought the community together for more than a century.

As we conclude our highlight of the Gatehouse at L As we conclude our highlight of the Gatehouse at Laurel Hill for Historic Preservation Month, we're taking a closer look at one of its defining features: the restored Gothic Revival gates. Dating back to approximately 1836, these monumental cast iron gates stand nearly 14 feet tall and weigh roughly 2,500 pounds. After years of deterioration and being removed from service, they underwent an extensive rehabilitation process combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, including 3D scanning to accurately preserve their historic design details.

Today, these gates once again serve as the grand entrance to @LaurelHillPHL, welcoming visitors through a restored landmark that has symbolized the site for nearly two centuries.

Memorial Day weekend often marks the beginning of Memorial Day weekend often marks the beginning of summer routines.

Doors open a little earlier, evenings stretch a little longer, and outdoor spaces become the heart of the home once again.

At Colby’s Run, terraces, covered outdoor living spaces, and the infinity-edge pool were designed to create a seamless connection between the home and the surrounding landscape, offering spaces for gathering, entertaining, and quiet moments throughout the season.

Framed by gardens and ancient woods, Colby's Run reflects a balance of simplicity, elegance, and indoor-outdoor living that feels especially fitting as summer begins.

Historic Preservation Month is about more than sav Historic Preservation Month is about more than saving buildings. It is about preserving the stories, spaces, and community connections they represent.

Founded in 1836, Laurel Hill Cemetery became one of the pioneering cemeteries that transformed how Americans viewed these landscapes, creating places not only for remembrance but also for reflection and community. Today, the Gatehouse remains the only original cemetery building still standing, serving as an enduring symbol of @LaurelHillPHL and a gateway for generations of visitors.

The recent rehabilitation of the Gatehouse addressed critical preservation needs while reinforcing its role as a civic and cultural landmark, ensuring this historic icon can continue welcoming visitors for years to come.

Color shapes atmosphere, influences emotion, and q Color shapes atmosphere, influences emotion, and quietly defines how we experience a space. Though trends evolve, the psychology of color in architecture and interiors remains timeless.

A few colors and the feelings they often evoke:

• Blue brings a sense of calm, focus, and stability. Often used in bedrooms, libraries, and gathering spaces, softer blues can create a restorative atmosphere while deeper tones add richness and depth.

• Green feels connected to nature and balance. From muted sage to saturated forest tones, green can make interiors feel grounded, welcoming, and serene.

• Yellow introduces warmth, optimism, and energy. Used thoughtfully, it can brighten kitchens, breakfast rooms, and transitional spaces with a sense of light and liveliness.

• Red creates intensity and warmth. Rich reds and terracottas can add intimacy and drama, especially in dining rooms, studies, or historic interiors.

• White offers clarity and openness. It reflects natural light beautifully and allows architectural details, materials, and furnishings to take center stage.

• Black adds contrast, sophistication, and definition. Whether through accents, millwork, or exterior details, darker tones can create striking visual balance.

• Earth tones like ochre, clay, sand, and taupe continue to resonate for their timelessness and connection to the natural world.

As we shared in our article “For Consideration: The Power of Color” back in 2020, thoughtful color selection is never just decorative. It influences how spaces are experienced, remembered, and lived in.

“The Spaces That Shape Us” The way a home lives i “The Spaces That Shape Us”

The way a home lives is often shaped long before the walls go up. It’s in the instinct to gather, to nurture, to create spaces that feel both functional and deeply personal.

Kitchens that become the center of everything. Living rooms designed for connection. Quiet corners carved out for rest and reflection. Gardens that invite time outdoors.

These moments, routines, and rhythms don’t happen by accident. They’re influenced by the people who understand how a home should feel.

Today, we’re reflecting on the ways mothers shape not just homes, but the experiences within them. Happy Mother's Day from Archer & Buchanan!

“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”

That idea comes to life at Duxbury Point Residence.

A great client. A talented builder. A thoughtful interior designer. That alone sets the stage for success.

But when you’ve worked together before—when trust, communication, and shared vision are already in place—that’s when a project truly excels. We’re always humbled to be invited back by our clients. And when we can reunite the same team, we know the process will be as rewarding as the result: efficient, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable.
