Archer & Buchanan Project Completed with Bunny Williams Featured in Her Latest Book

ARCHER & BUCHANAN ARCHITECTURE is thrilled to be part of the latest book on the work of interior designer Bunny Williams. In Love Affairs with Houses, Bunny presents a selection of 15 houses she decorated and particularly loved – one being a project worked on in collaboration with Archer & Buchanan. Featured on the cover of the book, the Wilmington Residence required an unwinding of layers and years of remodeling that had obscured the original simplicity and elegant grandeur of a home intended to be a country retreat for a large family. Lost features, including a large west portico to mirror the east portico, were reinstated and a few new bedroom suites were carved out of numerous staff quarters. The goal was to restore the colonial revival language of the home on a grand scale to its 1908 roots so that a visitor could imagine it as intended from the beginning. Bunny, using the owners’ extensive art collection as a basis for selections, created marvelous interiors befitting the setting and serving the needs of the clients’ young family.
