Marshall Square Park
Marshall Square Park Residential Development
West Chester, Pennsylvania
Commonwealth Design Award
This residential development brings new, high quality single-family housing to the heart of the Borough of West Chester. The 1.25-acre site, which includes the majestic Washington Townsend House, had been converted to a nursing home and the site was overbuilt in the 1950s with nondescript institutional structures. In the 1990s the facility was deemed outdated and inadequate to serve its elderly residents. The site was made available for development and ABA was charged with designing a flexible and contextual home prototype that would fit into and enhance the well-established neighborhood of handsome single and twin residences.
