The education center and greenhouse enhances the arboretum’s ability to further its mission “for the encouragement of horticulture in its broadest sense” through horticultural display, public education and outreach programs, plant propagation and maintaining the College’s reputation of having “the most beautiful college campus in America. The building is located near the College’s main entrance, adjacent to the arboretum’s headquarters, in a scenic landscaped environment. The project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and is expected to receive a LEED Silver certification.
